SYP is one of the strongest, hardest pines in the world, proving its worth over many generations of use in the USA.The timber is stress graded C24 which affords wide joist and beam spans and consequently less framing timber required than in a lesser grade of sub structure.

The timber has a warm natural tone which can be left to slowly silver, and a pronounced grain structure, providing for a slip resistant surface.

All timbers are pressure treated with MCA (micronized copper azole) to UC4 (ground and water contact) and kiln dried before and after treatment, for stability.

Due to the open cell structure of SYP uptake is extremely high, ensuring the chemical enters and remains fixed throughout each piece of timber.

This unique cell structure means there is no need to treat cut ends with additional treatment during construction, saving time.

SYP is graded according to its appearance. The durability, integrity and strength of the timber remain consistent throughout the grades.

Clear grade is 99% knot free with a very clean profile. and is used in radius edge deck boards and sections of timber suitable for screening stairs and balustrades.

Construction grade timbers are selected for strength and are often knottier in appearance. We supply dense select structural and clear grade in a variety of 2” x sizes.

All our deck fixings are stainless steel, giving excellent quality and longevity. We use a self countersinking torx system for ease and speed of installation.
